Straight Outta Compton // Movie Review

N.W.A live their lives to the fullest, and this movie surely doesn't hide it. A stunning story about the upcoming and down bringing of one of the greatest hip hop groups of all time.

Earlier today I rewatched one of the greatest hip hop movies of all time. Straight Outta Compton. The movie came out in 2015, and I have approximately watched it 50-100 times already. The movie starts in Compton in 1986 with first introducing Eazy-E. From there you get a glimpse of the real N.W.A, and it takes you trough a journey from the beginning to the sad end.

That movie itself is a enjoyable and insightful film about the goods and bads of N.W.A. It gives perspective to N.W.A as a group. The movies main characters Ice Cube (portrait by his son O'shea Jackson Jr.), Dr. Dre (portrait by Corey Hawkins), Eazy-E (portrait by Jason Mitchell), DJ Yella (portrait by Neil Brown Jr.) and MC Ren (portrait by Aldis Hodge). The acting is almost flawless and you get the feeling that you're the one sitting in a lowrider, living their lives.

The journey is good, bad, suspenseful and raw. The film tells it as it is, and isn't afraid to hide the sad true story about N.W.A and their split up as a group.

If you're a hip hop fan this movie is a much watch, and if you're not a fan of hip hop I think you will enjoy it anyway because of the thrilling storyline, great acting and raw truth there is produced throughout the whole movie. My first movie review and I chose to start with an absolute banger of a film.

I have chosen some criteria to judge the movies I review.

Plot - 10/10. The plot is solid in the whole movie, and makes you sit on the edge of your seat the whole time.

Characters - 9/10. You feel like it's the original N.W.A, living the storyline in real life.

Music - 9/10. The music fits the movie perfectly and contributes in a positive way to the vibe of the movie.

Total rating - 9,6/10. The movie makes you want to go listen to gansta rap, makes you wanna get to know the rap game and makes you want to do something with your life. I still sit on the edge of my seat throughout the movie when I rewatch it again and again. One of the best hip hop movies ever made.
